As a leading Frisco dermatologist, Dr. Brent Spencer excelled, graduating with Summa Cum Laude honors with a Bachelors of Science in Microbiology from Texas A&M University. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX. Here he was awarded the elite distinction of membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society, being amongst the top percent of his medical school class with the endorsement of his peers. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch before proceeding onto his dermatology residency at the Texas A&M Health Science Center at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple, TX.
Here, he specialized his medical career in all aspects of skin health. Dr. Spencer served as Chief Resident while at Scott & White and participated with many dermatology publications. It was in residency that he realized his true passion for dermatologic surgery. To further pursue his interest and perfect his expertise in dermatologic surgery, he completed a competitive process to gain acceptance into a formal fellowship training program. He completed one of the nation’s few combined Mohs Surgery and Procedural Dermatology fellowships at Virginia Commonwealth University (Medical College of Virginia) in Richmond, VA. Here, he specialized in the intricate techniques of Mohs Micrographic Surgery, Facial Reconstructions, Procedural and Cosmetic Dermatology. This training taught him expertise that differentiates him amongst many other physicians in his specialty.
Dr. Spencer is dedicated to ongoing, lifelong education and pursuing the most-advanced research in dermatology and dermatologic surgery. His excellent knowledge is apparent once you meet him. He personally has authored several publications and chapters in dermatology textbooks, including skin of color. Additionally, Dr. Spencer feels strongly about giving back to the medical community. He volunteers locally with high school and college students in their health career mentoring programs. He enjoys educating medical students and PA students completing their clinical dermatology rotations as a preceptor in our clinic. He also participates in a charity organization helping to provide dermatology care in Frisco to the uninsured patients of Collin County.
As a leader in dermatology and medicine, Dr. Spencer actively serves on the executive board of the Collin-Fannin County Medical Society. He currently serves as President-elect for the Collin-Fannin County Medical Society. And, he continues to remain active on a monthly basis with the Dallas Dermatological Society.
Dr. Spencer was born and raised in Denison, TX. He and his wife, Elyse, are excited to be back home in North Texas, and look forward to taking care of you. In his time off, he enjoys college football, running, traveling, church activities and playing with his two young sons. Dr. Spencer feels caring for patients is a privilege and treats each patient’s skin cancer in the most personalized, professional manner. He welcomes patients of all ages.
Elyse Spencer

Elyse is a board-certified, Master’s degree trained Physician Assistant who is licensed to practice medicine in Texas. She is passionate about medical, pediatric and cosmetic dermatology, as well as skin aesthetics. She has practiced as a board-certified PA since 2005. In 2009, she dedicated her career to studying and specializing in dermatology by working hand-in-hand alongside Dr. Spencer in Frisco. Previously, she had the privilege of practicing aside well-renowned physicians in Internal Medicine at Scott & White Hospital in Temple, TX before moving to Frisco. This allowed her to gain an excellent foundation to build her knowledge in dermatology upon. She is a member of the Texas Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.
Elyse was born & raised in the Texas Panhandle. She graduated from Texas Tech University with her Bachelors degree & continued onto PA school in Galveston, TX. Here she excelled while obtaining her Masters degree in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Texas Medical Branch, which is historically recognized as a leading PA school in Texas. Elyse brings 11 years of diverse medical experience to her practice after working in Pediatrics, Orthopedics, General Surgery, Internal Medicine & Urgent Care.
Elyse’s love for dermatology sparked in her late teens after being diagnosed with acne herself. From early in her medical career, Elyse has focused her continuing medical education training in dermatology and is honored to provide excellent & compassionate dermatologic care to her patients. Focusing on her patient-first philosophy, she brings unique skills in patient education, dermatological manifestations of systemic disease, and an array of training in general, surgical & cosmetic dermatology.
When you meet Elyse, you will feel at ease about your skin conditions. Her goal is staying up-to-date on the latest dermatology treatment options. Her personal philosophy is to provide patients the knowledge to best understand their dermatologic skin conditions, so we can achieve our treatment goals together. Elyse’s commitment to skin cancer detection, prevention and education is paramount to her daily practice.
Personally, Elyse has a passion for interior design, which she brings into her cosmetic dermatology practice with her aesthetic vision. She loves formulating aesthetic rejuvenation for her patient’s aging skin concerns. Her goal is to obtain natural and refreshed artistic beauty in your skin. She understands that dermatology plays a role in a person’s confidence and self-esteem. Her other special interests include formulating skin care tailored to every patient’s budget, lifestyle and skin type.
Elyse sees patients at our office part-time. Outside of the office, she enjoys Mommy-time spent with her three sons and family. Her other hobbies include skiing, traveling, shopping, and cooking.
Meridith McGuffey

Meridith McGuffey is a Physician Assistant certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is licensed to practice Medicine in the state of Texas.
Meridith was born and raised in Allen, Texas. She completed her undergraduate
studies at Texas A&M University, where she earned her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Health Education. Meridith’s undergraduate coursework helped foster her dedication to educating patients, so that they may improve their overall health and wellness and prevent illnesses. Upon graduation from Texas A&M, Meridith attended the University of Texas Medical Branch Physician Assistant Program in Galveston, Texas. There, she earned her Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies, and completed several clinical rotations including preceptorships in Dermatology and Plastic Surgery.
Upon graduation Meridith returned to her home of North Texas. She gained experience in general medicine, practicing in a Family Medicine setting in North Dallas. This experience has helped establish a foundation in which she can grow her dermatology knowledge. Meridith has trained closely with Dr. Spencer, and currently works under his supervision to examine, diagnose and treat medical and cosmetic dermatology patients. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Texas Academy of Physician Assistants, and the Society for Dermatology Physician Assistants.
In her free time, Meridith enjoys exercising and running, reading, trying new restaurants and spending time with her husband and family at the lake.
Rebecca Boss

Rebecca “Becca” Boss is a board-certified physician assistant licensed to practice in Texas.
Becca was born in Dallas, TX, and was raised in Lubbock, TX. She completed her undergraduate education at Texas Tech University with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and biology in 2013. She graduated with magna cum laude honors and was integrated into the distinguished Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies. During her undergraduate studies, Becca discovered her passion for science, problem-solving, and working alongside others. She chose to further her education by obtaining a Master of Science in Applied Cognition & Neuroscience from The University of Texas at Dallas. While finalizing this program and simultaneously completing a patient-based research internship and working in a medical office, Becca’s interests became more focused on medicine and patient care. She then attended The University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, TX, where she completed her Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree in 2019. After obtaining certification and licensing to practice as a PA, Becca gained several years experience working in surgical specialties in the Dallas area. During this time, as well as during her PA studies, Becca was able to work alongside numerous specialists in both inpatient and outpatient settings wherein she found her passion for dermatology.
Becca has trained closely with Dr. Spencer and currently works under his supervision. Becca prides herself in being thorough, detailed-oriented, and providing the best possible experience and management for her patients. She is a member of the Texas Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society for Dermatology Physician Assistants. She enjoys staying up-to-date on the latest research and treatment modalities in dermatologic practice.
Outside of work, Becca enjoys spending time with her husband, family, friends, and three dogs. She is a self-proclaimed foodie who, in her free time, enjoys traveling, cooking, continuously learning, caring for animals, and cheering on the Red Raiders.
